Forget about funding for MBT, says Commission

The European Commission does not support mechanical biological treatment (MBT) because it does not consider it the most efficient way of using EU money, a DG Regional and Urban Policy (DG Regio) official told a recent conference. Speaking at a Committee of the Regions conference on Waste management systems - investing in line with the waste hierarchy, on 9 October, Jan-Mikolaj Dzieciolowski said that the Commission, in the process of finalising the legislative framework of managing EU funds, will instead favour "more innovative branches of waste management".
