Belgium is planning to set up a register of nanomaterials in products placed on the national market under plans notified to the European Commission earlier this month. The draft decree, which is now on hold until 7 October to give the Commission and other member states time to comment, would require that substances manufactured at the nanoscale, and preparations containing them, to be declared if more than 100 grams of these substances are placed on the market per year.
