The British supermarket chain Waitrose has decided to stick with its GM-free feed - despite the actions of Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Salisbury's and the Co-operative group. "Our position remains as it has been for some time, in that we're continuing to feed guaranteed non-GM soy to poultry (including egg-producing birds and turkeys), New Zealand lamb and UK farmed trout and salmon," a Waitrose spokesperson reportedly told our sister publication Agra Europe. "We've bought well forward and can maintain our position for the foreseeable future. We're working on securing new supply routes as well as researching home grown protein sources to get around this issue in the future."
