EU finally agrees on packaging definitions

"What is and what is not packaging?" This question that can reach almost Hamletian proportions finally reached some kind of answer last week - as the European Commission Directive dealing with the list of illustrative examples of packaging was published in the EU's Official Journal. The 7 February text is the result of some 16 years' debate in the member states, and brings 25 new items to the annex of the packaging and packaging waste directive 94/62/EC as amended in 2004.
