Belgium: Fost Plus to trial collecting more types of plastic

Belgium's green dot scheme Fost Plus is carrying out pilot projects to see if it is worth collecting more plastic packaging waste than just bottles and flasks. Fost Plus's new accreditation until 2018 has enabled funding and encouragement for the packaging recovery scheme to test out different types of plastic collection - for example of polystyrene in special containers in supermarket car parks, although managing director William Vermeir told us last month that, "even if we get permission, these schemes would be more modest than those carried out by our French neighbour Eco-Emballages.
