Belgium: Revised packaging law confirms EPR principles, says Fost Plus head

Belgium's packaging law, which was revised at the end of last year in parallel with the delivery of Belgian green dot scheme Fost Plus's new accreditation, confirms the benefits of extended producer responsibility (EPR), Fost Plus managing director William Vermeir has said. "The revised packaging law reconfirms in an unambiguous and explicit way the Belgian EPR principles for packaging: amongst others, it's a principle that serves the public interest, it can only be coordinated and executed by obliged industry and it is operated with the respect of the municipal authorities in the closest possible partnership with them."
