Cyprus risks ECJ over mercury storage failings

Cyprus has been given two months to send the European Commission details about how EU legislation on the storage of metallic mercury considered as waste is being enacted in Cypriot domestic law or face being referred to the European Court of Justice (ECJ). The Commission said on 20 February that it was urging Cyprus to send it these details and prove that it has enacted EU rules on the storage of metallic mercury considered as waste.
