Views sought on North Wales hydro-electric scheme

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is asking people for their views on a company's permit applications for a hydroelectric scheme in North Wales. The applications, by Snowdonia Pumped Hydro Ltd, are to discharge water into Llyn Padarn and Nant y Betws, Llanberis, from a proposed hydroelectric scheme at Glyn Rhonwy. The company withdrew previous applications after being told by NRW that they had not provided enough information about the day-to-day operation and management of the scheme. NRW will now carry out an in-depth assessment of the new applications, gathering advice and technical evidence before deciding whether or not to grant a permit.
