Epa Issues Final Hazardous Air Pollutant Rule Renaming Category For Ferroalloys Production

The Environmental Protection Agency will rename the hazardous air pollutant area source category for ferroalloy production, better reflecting affected facilities, according to a final rule released Dec. 17.rnThe rule, which will take effect immediately after it is published in the Federal Register, renames the "Ferroalloys Production: Ferromanganese and Silicomanga-nese" category "Ferroalloys Production Facilities." According to EPA, the name change will better reflect the source category, which will now include calcium carbide and silicon metal production as well.
