In a proposal to establish the first-ever hourly standard for nitrogen dioxide, a Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee review panel endorsed the range of ambient nitrogen dioxide concentrations being considered by the Environmental Protection Agency during a telephone conference Aug. 10.rnCiting uncertainties with available monitoring of roadside concentrations of nitrogen dioxide, the Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee's Oxides of Nitrogen Primary National Ambient Air Quality Standards Review Panel endorsed EPA's proposal to set the first hourly standard for the pollutant at a level between 0.080 part per million and 0.10 ppm.
