EPA Files Objections to Operating Permits For Two Texas Refineries Following Lawsuit

The Environmental Protection Agency will lodge objections to the operating permits issued to two refineries by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, according to a pair of Federal Register notices published June 15 (74 Fed. Reg. 28,242).rnEPA will ask the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to further justify the operating permits it issued to CITGO Refining and Chemicals Co. for its Corpus Christi facility and to the Premcor Refining Group Inc. for its Port Arthur refinery in response to petitions submitted by several environmental groups in 2007.
