President-elect Obama announced Dec. 20 the appointment of Harvard University's John P. Hold-ren, a specialist in energy technology and climate change, to head the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, a post in which he will serve as Obama's chief science adviser.rnIn his weekly radio address, Obama said Holdren also will co-chair the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology (PCAST).rnHoldren is director of the Science, Technology, and Public Policy program in the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard's John F.
