The Environmental Protection Agency will settle into a new enforcement system for the Safe Drinking Water Act in 2010 while taking steps to revise some important regulations and decide on possible new rules.rnThe new enforcement regime, which started Jan. 1, refocuses EPA oversight and assistance to provide more support-and implicitly more pressure-on water systems that have the most serious and frequent violations of drinking water standards.
