EPA Extends Deadline to Respond to Petition From New Jersey on Sulfur Dioxide Emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency extended by six months its deadline to respond to a second petition from New Jersey alleging sulfur dioxide emissions from a Pennsylvania power plant prevent it from meeting federal air quality standards, according to a final rule published in the Federal Register Nov. 16 (75 Fed. Reg. 69,889).rnEPA said it will respond to the petition by May 16, saying it decided it needs additional time to perform the necessary technical analyses.
