ATSDR Proposes Developing Profiles For 240 Pesticides, Other Substances

The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry on March 31 proposed 240 pesticides, solvents, and other substances to evaluate for human health effects under its toxicological profile program Federal Register (75 Fed. Reg. 16,153).rnThe substances proposed for the so-called Set 24 toxicological profiles include pesticides such as aldrin, chlordane, dieldrin, chlorpyrifos, and carbaryl. They also include other chemicals and substances such as asbestos, methane, butyl benzyl phthalate, and trichloro-benzene.rnATSDR also said in the notice that it will "consider the nomination of any additional substances, not on this list, that may have public health implications."
