State Proposes to Ease Stormwater Rules For Projects That Have Preliminary Approvals

The Maryland Department of the Environment proposed emergency regulations March 12 that would codify a compromise worked out between developers and environmental advocates over the state's new stormwater design requirements.rnThe emergency regulations must be approved by a legislative committee before they can take effect.rnIf approved, the emergency rules and accompanying MDE guidance will modify regulations that the agency adopted in June 2009 to implement the Stormwater Management Act of 2007 (40 ER 1465, 6/19/09).
