Obama Establishes Interagency Task Force To Expedite Carbon Capture at Power Plants

President Obama announced Feb. 3 the establishment of an interagency task force charged with speeding up the development of technologies to capture and store carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants that contribute significantly to global warming. The chief mission of the task force is to provide a blueprint to enable five to 10 commercial-scale demonstration projects for carbon sequestration to be "up and running" by 2016.
