USGS Finds Nearly 20 Percent of Wells Contain Trace Elements Exceeding Standards

Anew U.S. Geological Survey study of more than 5,000 drinking water and monitoring wells found that nearly one-fifth of the wells contain at least one trace element, such as arsenic, manganese, or uranium, at concentrations that exceed human health benchmarks set by the Environmental Protection Agency.
