Some Confidential Greenhouse Gas Data To Be Provided to Contractors, EPA Says

The Environmental Protection Agency will provide several contractors with access to confidential business information submitted through the green house gas emissions reporting program, according to a notice published Aug. 23 (76 Fed. Reg. 52,659). The contractors will have access to confidential busi ness information as they fulfill various contracts for EPA, including verifying the data submitted through the Electronic Greenhouse Gas Reporting Tool and provid ing server maintenance, the agency said. Several sources of greenhouse gases are required to report the emissions data to EPA as part of its reporting program at 40 C.F.R. Part 98. EPA said contractors who access confidential infor mation will be required to take steps to protect that in formation.
