ALBANY, N.Y.—General Electric Co. began June 6 the second and final phase of the project to dredge polychlorinated biphenyls from the Hudson River in what is expected to be a five- to seven-year project. Four to six dredges will work 24 hours a day, six days a week through the summer and fall to remove approximately 350,000 cubic yards of PCB-contaminated sediment from 100 acres of river bottom south of the town of Fort Edward, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
