EPA Inspector General Releases Semiannual Report

The Environmental Protection Agency Office of the Inspector General released its semiannual report to Congress on June 1 tracking its audit, evaluation, and investigative work from October 2010 through March 2011. The report documents the office's audits and investigations into EPA programs and operations as well as policy recommendations made over the time period. The office spent a "substantial portion" of its resources assisting EPA in efficiently spending $7.2 billion in stimulus funds, EPA Inspector General Arthur Elkins said in the report.
