Comments Sought Until May 16 on Use Of Numerical Limits in Stormwater Permits

Responding to requests from state regulators and other parties, the Environmental Protection Agency said it will seek comments until May 16 on guidance issued in November 2010 that recommended the use of numerical effluent limits in Clean Water Act permits for stormwater discharges. In a March 17 announcement, EPA said it will accept comments on the guidance memo issued Nov. 12, 2010. The guidance was intended to help state and local permitting authorities incorporate stormwater discharge limits into National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits until EPA completes its stormwater rule.
