DOE Provides $343 Million Loan Guarantee For Nevada to Deliver Renewable Energy

The Department of Energy Feb. 15 announced the approval of a $343 million loan guarantee for NV Energy and Great Basin Transmission South LLC to construct a high-voltage transmission line through Nevada. Financed with American Recovery and Reinvestment Act dollars, the loan guarantee for the One Nevada Transmission Line (ON Line project) "will unlock Nevada's vast clean energy potential" and will "create hundreds of jobs," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters in a conference call.
