David Vitter (R-La.) announced Feb. 15 he was placing a "hold" on the nomination of Dan Ashe to be director of the Department of the Interior's Fish and Wildlife Service until the department issues at least 15 deepwater exploration well permits and answers his questions on the permitting process.
