Companies Reporting More Negative Impacts From Water-Related Issues, Report Says

Companies are reporting more negative impacts from drought and other water-related issues, according to a report released Oct. 23 by the Carbon Disclosure Project. But companies are not reporting a large increase in board oversight of water issues and are reporting no, increase in informing investors about water risks, accord' ing to CDP Global Water Report 2012. CDP requested information from 318 companies that are part of the Global 500 and are in water-intensive sectors or exposed to water-related risks. The report, which was prepared by Deloitte, looked at data from the 185 companies that responded. CDP requested the information on behalf of 470 investors representing $50 trillion in assets.
