1,600 Properties Reduce Energy Use 4 Percent, Carbon Emissions 8 Percent

A group of more than 1,600 global investment properties reduced their energy use by more than 4 percent and their carbon dioxide emissions by more than 8 percent in 2011 compared with the previous year, according to a report released Oct. 17. The energy savings totaled more than 140 million kilowatt-hours, and the emissions reduction was equivalent to not consuming nearly 1.06 million barrels of oil, according to the Greenprint Performance Report.
