摘要

Schlumberger Technology Corp., a Houston-based oil field services company, will pay more than $6.2 million for site remediation at a southern Illinois wildlife refuge, under the terms of an amended consent decree filed in federal court (United States vs. Schlumberger Industries Inc., S.D. 111., No. 91-cv-04222, amended consent decree 7/26/12). The proposed settlement would amend a 1992 proposed consent decree and would cover the costs of cleaning up polychlorinated biphenyl, lead, chromium, and cadmium contamination at the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge superfund site located primarily in Williamson County, 111., according to a notice being published Aug. 7.
