EPA to Provide Communities in 16 States $950,000 in Green Infrastructure Grants

The Environmental Protection Agency announced July 19 that it is providing $950,000 to 17 communities in 16 states to implement projects designed to capture and filter pollutants in stormwater through green infrastructure techniques.The funds are going to small towns that are interested in "preserving and protecting their healthy waterways" as well as large urban cities that EPA said are "interested in adding green infrastructure into their redevelopment projects to restore degraded urban waters and help revitalize their communities." Still others are looking to demonstrate the potential of such techniques.
