Overturning an Environmental Protection Agency rule to limit greenhouse gas permitting to large sources could harm the domestic baking and farming industry, industry representatives told a congressional hearing June 19. Approximately 20 percent of U.S. bakeries hold operating permits under Title V of the Clean Air Act, which cover emissions from ovens and bakery processes, according to Robb MacKie, president and chief executive officer of the American Bakers Association.
