Science Advisory Board Panel Formed To Consider Perchlorate Contaminant Goals

An Environmental Protection Agency Science Advisory Board panel will consider approaches for developing a maximum contaminant level goal for perchlorate under the Safe Drinking Water Act, starting with a two-day meeting in July, the agency said. In a notice published in the Federal Register May 30, EPA said the newly formed panel has scheduled a public meeting on the issue July 18-19 and a telephone news conference on Sept. 25 (77 Fed. Reg. 31,847).
