Whitfield Eyes Review of Clean Air Act, With More Focus on EPA Grants, Lawsuits

A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee will launch a series of forums this spring on whether broad changes are needed to the Clean Air Act, the subcommittee chairman said Feb. 9.Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.), chairman of the Subcommittee on Energy and Power, told reporters the focus of the forums will be on "the problems of the Clean Air Act, where it is working well-and where it is not working."Whitfield said Republicans are reaching out to committee Democrats before launching the meetings in hopes of "breaking the logjam" over revamping the Clean Air Act.
