State Water Board Proposes Streamlining Rules on Developments' Stormwater Runoff

Virginia's State Water Quality Board has proposed streamlining certain soon-to-be-implemented regulations for reducing stormwater runoff from new developments. The proposal, notice of which was posted Oct. 21 on the state's regulatory Town Hall website, would reduce overlaps in paperwork and permitting that would be unnecessary burdens for developers, builders and municipalities, Department of Environmental Quality spokesman Bill Hayden said Oct. 22.
