States, Advocacy Groups Threaten Lawsuits Over Missed Deadline for Wood Heater Rule

Seven states and several advocacy groups are threatening to sue the Environmental Protection Agency for missing its Clean Air Act deadline to review air quality standards for new residential wood heaters. EPA is 17 years late in reviewing the standards, and residential wood heaters remain a significant source of particulate matter emissions, the states and groups told EPA in separate notices of intent to sue.
