Electronics, Recycling Industries Seek New Technologies to Manage CRT Glass

The Consumer Electronics Association and the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries are seeking new environmentally protective and economically viable technologies to manage and reuse lead-containing cathode ray tube (CRT) glass.The CEA and the ISRI both say low demand for new products made with CRT glass has dramatically reduced the market for recycling the glass and has led to stockpiling. Submissions in the Cathode Ray Challenge will be accepted until July 1 and evaluated for their economic viability and environmental soundness.
