摘要

The Environmental Protection Agency eased the limits for emissions of mercury and air toxics from new coal- and oil-fired power plants in a final rule issued March 29.The final rule sets a mercury emissions limit of 0.003 pound per gigawatt-hour for coal-fired power plants that are not designed to burn low-rank virgin coal and for new integrated combined cycle units. Additionally, the final rule revises the emissions limits for hydrogen chloride, filterable particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, lead, and selenium for all new coal-fired power plants.
