Mayors Seek 'Coordinated Voice' on Issues Facing Cities, Towns Along Mississippi River

The mayors of numerous cities and towns dotting the Mississippi River called for a series of reforms March 21 to address challenges confronting the river. The Mississippi River Platform contains actions the mayors say are needed to protect the river. The announcement was organized by the Mississippi River Cities and Towns Initiative, launched in December 2012 to provide a "coordinated voice" to advocate for reforms to help the river.
