Six U.S. Companies Added to Sustainability Index

Twenty global companies, including six U.S. companies, will be added to the FTSE4Good sustainability indexes, according to the FTSE Group, a subsidiary of the London Stock Exchange Group. The U.S. companies are ADT Corp., Iron Mountain, Salesforce.com, Union Pacific Corp., Ventas Inc., and Wellpoint. Two U.S. semiconductor companies, Applied Materials and Micron Technology, will be removed from the indexes for failing to meet human and labor rights criteria, according to a semiannual review of the indexes published March 8. Companies must meet criteria related to environmental management, mitigating climate change, human and labor rights, supply chain labor standards, countering bribery, and corporate governance to be listed on the indexes.
