Advocates Meet With White House On Possible Revisions to Oil Spill Rules

Environmental advocates have met with the White House Office of Management and Budget to discuss potential revisions to what types of chemicals may be used in responding to oil spills. According to a handout provided at the meeting, the environmental advocates called for additional or expanded toxicity testing, clear toxicity criteria for safe use of chemicals, and full disclosure of chemical or dis-persant ingredients prior to use in response to an oil spill.
