Report Finds Management Weaknesses In Inspector General Office Vehicle Use

Five management weaknesses in tracking use of government vehicles used by a division of the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Inspector General raises the potential for unauthorized and inefficient use of those vehicles, a report from the inspector general's office concludes. There are inconsistencies in filling out usage logs, insufficient documentation tracking home-to-work usage of vehicles, unclear requirements for keeping fuel and maintenance receipts, inadequate training on inputting data on usage and weakness in tracking the status of vehicles in locations with limited investigative staff, according to the report (15-B-0002).
