DOT Finalizes New Categorical Exclusions For Highway, Transit Projects Under MAP-21

Federal highway and transit agencies have finalized nine new categories of actions that would be excluded from environmental review under the National Environmental Policy Act in a final rule published Oct. 6 (79 Fed. Reg. 60,100). In the rule, the Federal Highway Administration finalized four new categorical exclusions for highway projects, and the Federal Transit Administration finalized five new exclusions for transit projects.
