Representatives of the scrap recycling industry met with the White House Office of Management and Budget to discuss proposed language in an Environmental Protection Agency waste regulation that they say would cause $1.2 billion in annual impact to their industry. The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries discussed language in the proposed version of the Definition of Solid Waste regulation that would effectively abolish a long-standing exclusion for processed scrap metals from Subtitle C regulation under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
