Landrieu Adds Grid Security, Nuclear Energy To Senate Energy Committee Priority List

Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman Mary Landrieu (D-La.) said March 27 that one of her priorities for the committee will be to examine the reliability and security of the electricity grid. Landrieu told reporters that the next committee hearing likely will be on the issue, although she didn't specify a date. Nuclear waste storage, permit streamlining, natural resources revenue and energy infrastructure such as pipelines and liquefied natural gas are also important issues for the committee to consider, she said.
