Power Plant Carbon Dioxide Proposal Open for Public Comment Until May 9

The Environmental Protection Agency is extending to May 9 the public comment period on a proposed rule that would set a carbon dioxide performance standard for new fossil fuel-fired power plants. The comment period on the agency's proposed new source performance standards for carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel-fired power plants was originally set to expire March 10. The agency announced Feb. 26 that it would provide an additional 60 days for comments.
