Site Owner to Pay $150,000, Proceeds From Property Sale to Settle Cleanup Costs

The owner of the Blue Ridge Plating Co. Superfund site in Arden, N.C., has agreed to pay $150,000 and the proceeds of the sale of the property to the federal government to settle cleanup costs. The settlement under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act was announced by the Environmental Protection Agency in a notice published in the Oct. 2 Federal Register (80 Fed. Reg. 59,772).
