White House Begins Review of Proposals On Waste Generators, Pharmaceutical Waste

The White Office of Management and Budget has begun its review of two proposed rules concerning hazardous waste management under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. One proposed rule (RIN 2050-AG39) would address how the small portion of Pharmaceuticals regulated as hazardous wastes would be treated under RCRA. Companies and health care facilities have said the manufacturing-oriented standards under Subtitle C of RCRA make compliance difficult and awkward for them.
