摘要

Four members of the Nevada congressional delegation, including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), introduced legislation in the House and Senate March 10 that would require written consent from a state governor, affected units of local government and affected Indian tribes before a nuclear waste site could receive authorization to be built. The Nuclear Waste Informed Consent Act (no numbers available), introduced by Reid and Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.), would allow Nevada to block the proposed nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, which both men have long opposed.
