Xcel Energy of Colorado Reaches Settlement Clearing Way for Large Wind Project

Xcel Energy has reached a settlement with multiple parties clearing the way for the construction of one of the largest wind farms in Colorado to begin this year. The administrative settlement, reached Sept. 6, obviates a hearing scheduled to occur before the Colorado Public Utilities Commission and means Xcel can proceed on an earlier construction schedule for the $1 billion Rush Creek Wind Project. The settlement included the company, commission staff, other utilities and environmental groups.
