Lawmakers Warn EPA Against Duplication Of Hardrock Mining Assurance Regulations

The Environmental Protection Agency may be moving forward with Superfund financial assurance regulations for hardrock mining that won't take into account existing assurance requirements, two prominent Republicans told EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy Aug. 9.
