Flint Mayor Denies to Court Misdirection Of Water Donations to Political Committee

Mayor Karen Weaver (D) of Flint, Mich., denied to a federal court that she redirected donations intended to address the city's water crisis to her personal political committee, urging the court to throw out the lawsuit (Henderson v. City of Flint, Mich., E.D. Mich., No. 2:16-cv-11648, brief filed 6/14/16). In the June 14 reply brief, Weaver also stood behind her own statements earlier this year that Former City Administrator Natasha Henderson was fired because she knew about certain health issues related to the water and didn't voice concerns.
