House Republicans' Budget Report Raises Natural Resources, Environment Allocations

The House Budget Committee filed its fiscal year 2017 budget resolution (H. Con. Still, Budget Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-Ga.) raised fiscal year 2017 budget authority and outlays in this year's resolution and report from FY17 authority and outlay allocations included in last year's budget documents. Committee staff, however, said that baselines and scoring may have affected the amounts. This year's documents carve out $38.64 billion for Natural Resources and Environment authority alongside a $41.17 billion outlay. Those figures mark a nearly $1 billion authority raise and a roughly $1.5 billion outlay raise from last year's report.
